Susan loves her work with our clients who are extended family to her. Her innate sensibilities and background lead her to exude heart-felt connection. She brings a lifetime of experience in education, counseling and care for people in all walks of life. Susan grew up in Pottsville, PA in a tight-knit family and community. After high school, she pursued her education in Europe and then the west coast of the U.S. She settled in California where she started her family and pursued her love of teaching. With the growth of her family, she decided to move back to Pennsylvania to be close to her extended family and to shift and grow her career path from teaching to mental health. This simply opened another path for her to help and support people, her true passion.
As the firm’s Elder Care Coordinator, Susan supports and advocates for her clients. Her years of experience working in a hospital and outpatient setting as a Social Worker have helped her gain the necessary tools to provide comprehensive case management services to our clients, including creating care plans, facilitating care conferences, arranging private home care or personal care/nursing home placement, and connecting clients and families with appropriate resources. As complex as that can be, what is simple and unchanging is her deep interest in others. She loves to learn her clients’ life stories and family history. Susan’s work is personal for her. When not advocating for our clients, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, going for hikes and practicing yoga.

When we first met with them, our Aunt was in the process of moving from an independent living situation into personal care. To our dismay, the care she received after this move was extremely inadequate and bordered on neglect. Susan spent hours helping us find and set up appointments with several other personal care facilities and we were able to move her within a week and a half. Once she was settled in, Lois worked with our Aunt to make sure her will and living will were up to date. Susan and Lois were so caring and patient with both our Aunt and ourselves, they made a very stressful situation much easier to handle. Sean has also been a huge help as we navigate selling our Aunt's property. We have been extremely satisfied with all aspects of guidance and services provided for the care of our Aunt.
